Test after test. Shrugs. Dead ends.\u003cbr\u003eMeanwhile, she was losing strength, balance, feeling, piece by piece.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThen we finally got the answer: two rare neurological conditions affecting her brain and spine. A Chiari Malformation, (where the brain pokes through the base of your skull) and 2 Cysts running the length of her spine.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eNot anxiety. Not stress. Not “just in her head.” Both literally and figuratively!\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eReal. Progressive. And getting worse.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe reality? The option available here is major, invasive surgery, with long recovery, high risk, and no guarantee it stops things for good.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe treatment she actually needed, the one that targets the cause, not just the symptoms, meant travelling to Barcelona to a specialist clinic.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt’s faster. Less invasive. And right now, it’s our best chance to stop this before it takes any more from her.
